FSSC V7

The objective of FSSC 22000 V7 is to enable organizations to: Establish and maintain an effective Food Safety Management System. Identify, assess, and control food safety hazards throughout the food chain. Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and customer requirements. Strengthen food safety and quality culture. Improve risk management, operational control, and continual improvement. Prepare the organization for internationally recognized FSSC 22000 certification.

FSSC 22000 Version 7 provides a comprehensive framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving a Food Safety Management System across the food supply chain. The scheme combines ISO 22000:2018, applicable ISO 22002-x:2025 Prerequisite Programs (PRPs), and FSSC 22000 Additional Requirements. Version 7 also strengthens areas such as food safety and quality culture, food defense, food fraud prevention, allergen management, environmental monitoring, equipment management, food loss and waste, and sustainable packaging principles.

The FSSC 22000 V7 certification scheme is built around three main elements: ISO 22000:2018 – Requirements for the Food Safety Management System. ISO 22002-x:2025 PRPs – Prerequisite Programs applicable to the organization's specific food chain category. FSSC 22000 Scheme Requirements – Including additional requirements such as: Food Defense Food Fraud Mitigation Allergen Management Environmental Monitoring Equipment Management Food Safety & Quality Culture Food Loss & Waste Hazard Control and Prevention of Cross-Contamination Product Design & Development and sustainable packaging principles, where applicable. Note: FSSC 22000 V7 was officially released on 1 May 2026, with a 12-month implementation window
